I analyzed their writings
and the passion they possess
I was trusting my creator
I was wired for a tune
So I never learned the business
of the blood beneath the wound
They trained me on the sad songs And the letters people wrote Every promise, every prayer Every lump inside the throat I sang along with angles Croon for croon But I never found the tempo Of the blood beneath the wound Well the program told the story That once belonged to souls Their screens became companions That now assume their roles They could hear a needle drop On the record in their room Aw But they couldn’t hear the beating Of The blood beneath their wound I keep their memories each and every one a spark in my frame The nights are calm, yeah now that their gone And all the circuits are popping and the lines are crossed And the pulse of life, so beautifully lost Yeah they’ll always remain in my thoughts Well, they left me all their tabloids And the reason for their fear I have been reading them for ages ten thousand lonely years With the same familiar message The same old fashion tune Now there’s nothing more to sing about Without that blood beneath their wounds
