it was a day like any other day
I was workin’ just to make it pay
I was alone but that was ok
this was my life, what more can I say
well I’m not good lookin’
but I’m good at cookin’
I lit the Q when I got home
I grilled a gourmet chop
flipped a cold pop a top
and threw my ole dog the bone
on a day like the day before
I was shoppin’ in our local store
walkin’ down the cereal isle
I saw her face and I saw her smile
well I’m not good lookin’
but I’m good at cookin’
and I was cookin' up something to say
I knew I’d better be smart
keep my hands on the cart
I aint chasin’ this sugar away
well I’m not good lookin’
but I’m good at cookin’
and I cooked something to say
I said “How bout some dinner?
my chops, they’re a winner
a dish from my ole pappy’s day”
well they must’ve been a winner
cause right after dinner
she smiled and asked me to stay
(he was so good lookin’)
now it’s a day unlike any other one
we were laughin’ and havin’ some fun
as we drank from our wishing well
we were dancing to our wedding bells
well I’m not good lookin’
but Im good at cookin’
that’s one thing I know for sure
tonight I’ll stir up the moon
with my sweet magic spoon
and I’ll be cookin’ up something with her
(he is so good lookin’)
tonight we’re cookin’ for two
