David Laue was born into a gifted musical family and was
handed the guitar at a very young age. He honed his musical skills learning
covers of his favorite songs. David picked up other instruments on his musical
journey, playing each one with his unique style and finesse. He then took to
playing talent shows, clubs and coffee houses, and was very well received.
David has a wide range of musical ability and tastes with a wide fan base of
devoted listeners from Coast to Coast.
Loren Laue (formally Evans) is a classically trained cellist with additional formal training on piano. She received vocal training from Julie Christensen, and is credited with being one of
the founding members of The Warm Guns (CMJ "Top 200", PK#75 w/ 35 adds), Hyperplush and Blimp. While working with Hyperplush, their sexy song Spankin', co-written by with Jeff Evans, was featured on the HBO Series Cathouse: S1 E8, "The Heat Is On". Notably, Loren participated, in songwriting sessions with Rickie Lee Jones in preparation for Jones' album "Ghostyhead". In the late nineties Loren had the pleasure of performing a special
concert with Perla Batalla and David Batteau for Leonard Cohen and his beloved
Roshi, to celebrate Roshi's birthday. In 2008, Loren and co-writer
Tamara Sue Varney composed a musical rock opera titled Reboot Earth which was
performed live by the Ventura College Dance Department.
David & Loren started writing together, utilizing their combined skills, shortly after taking nuptials. By late 2009 they started uploading new songs, one by one, to Soundcloud, co-writing, performing, engineering, and mastering each song from top to bottom, all while enjoying the collaborative process. Their music has naturally evolved into a genre they like to call "Orchestral Folk", as the songs presents a opportunity for David to express his unique pick'in style and Loren's knack for multi-track string arrangements. Lyrically, their mission is to promote mindful awareness by supplying listeners with a constant stream of sound bites with messages that bridge the gap between the head and the heart, but they have been known to digress. They have yet to write a swagger song, but they're working on it, off and on.
In October of 2013, their song "No Hero Here" was featured in the TLC Network hit reality show Breaking Amish (S1, E8). Subsequently by January, the single charted at #1 (Singer/Songwriter and Folk Rock categories) on the Amazon Hot New Releases Chart, and reached #10, Amazon best selling on the Folk Rock chart.
In November of 2014 they released their debut album, "Braving Pulp & Ink", and their sophomore album, "Whirlpools" was released in February of 2018.
